Manchester part two




We didn't spend all of our time in Manchester at Old Trafford, in addition we also had time for some shopping, to wander around and to eat some delicious food. 
We arrived pretty late on friday, so we found a place just around the corner from our hotel. According to my boyfriend this was the best food he ate on the entire trip :) I ordered butter chicken, but I was a bit dissapointed, after hearing Bjarte talk about it on Radioresepsjonen (a radio show in Norway) I guess I had a little too high expectations.

 After the tour on saturday we went to Manchester Arndale. I didn't actually do a lot of shopping, we were both too tired (hello?! I should have realized that I was getting sick when I was to tired to shop...the following week was spent in bed..), Anyway I finally bought a pair of Nike Air Max 90! After almost a year of contemplating if I should or shouldn't I did it, and it turned out to be an awesome purchase - I've used them almost every day since!
 So after shopping we drank a couple of beers and just hung out in our hotel :)
 After recharging, we realized it was time to get some food, so we wandered around until we found a place that seemed good (and had room for us - we didn't make any reservations).
 I got the classic pizza with mozzerella, tomato and basil, my favorite without a doubt!

 The next day we decided not to eat breakfast at the hotel. Best decision ever!
 We ordered the biggest breakfast ever (well, we did not, they had bigger sizes *three eggs, three sausages etc*, but it was pretty big!). It was the perfect morning before leaving for the match.
 Later that night we went to a place my boyfriend had discovered on tripadvisor. He had way to high expectations after the first restaurant we went to, and therefor got a bit dissapointed. The food was really good, it was just the memory of what had been that made it a little less awesome than what it really was. 
 The last day I had to buy myself a one-pound-umbrella, haha! No way I my hair was going to get curly and unruly ;) 
 We spent a lot of time at Primark (I always have to see what they have, it's so cheap!) and then we had lunch at TGIF :)


 We ended the day at the National Football Museum. It was a lot of fun and many cool things to see. But it ended badly, as I lost to my boyfriend in both Football manager and foosball! Haha, I'm kidding, I was still soaring after Sunday's big win so I really could'nt care less ;)

All in all, we had the best time! What more could a girl ask for? United won the game, I got to do some shopping and I basicly just enjoyed myself :) It was a bummer to wake up with a fever on tuesday, but it was totally worth it after the awesome weekend I had. Time to start saving so that I can do this again! :)

Chocolate Chip Cookies


Yesterday I slept almost all day after work. I was so tired when I got home at 11, so when I went to bed around 12 I slept until 19-20, ate "dinner", and then I fell asleep again! I woke up a couple of times in the middle of the night, but I managed to stay in bed until the clock turned 05 :) 

Today I had a day off, so I figured I should try to be a little housewife, and started to bake in the early hours :p The baking had to be accompanied by some Christmas movies, so I fetched my computer and turned on netflix, what a perfect morning!

Grey & Plaid..


..Is a perfect combo! It feels like every fall/winter the love everyone has for plaid blossoms. I feel like I can wear it all year really, but when the fall comes it tend to be more often. One thing is for sure, and that is that I'm loving all of my plaid items at the moment!

Date night


Yesterday was date night for me and my boyfriend :) Even though we live together we don't get much time to enjoy each others company, and every-day-practical-life often takes over - leaving romance out in the cold. That's why we sometimes have to make an effort; dress up and bring romance back.





I love this dress from BikBok - so comfy, simple and pretty at the same time. 
( - of course my new slippers had to be a part of date night, haha cozy slippers, cozy night)

Since I'm the one who (almost) always cooks, my boyfriend was saturdays chef. The food was SO good :)

You better work, b**ch

It's friday, which means that my little soup-experiment is over. I didn't want to do it for 7 days, because my goal was not to lose a lot of weight now, it was to get a cleanse and a good start of my "new life" ;) I have eaten some things in addition to the soup, as you can see under, and I feel SO much better! Hopefully I'm not as addicted to sugar and other unhealthy foods as I was before I started, cause I can't wait to continue - with a normal diet and training - and see some results! :)

Sooo tired afterwards! 



For breakfast today I tried to eat some soup, but I was so sick and tired of it that it just grew in my mouth..haha I mean, the soup is awesome, yummy and full of flavour, but after eating it for lunch, dinner and supper 3-4 days in a row I've had enough for now! 

An awesome plus after a few days on a detox? Regular, healthy food feels like such a luxury :D I LOVE bread, but I tend to overeat because I love it....so I have to eat crispbread instead of bread on weekdays....and today I loved that to! Haha Here's to hoping that continues and that I can adopt some healthy habits!

New beginnings

My last workout was five weeks ago. There, I said it. 
I dont have any excuses. Sure, I've had the classic cold, worked a little more than usual in addition to studying, but that doesn't mean that I should drop my entire workout routine?! ..and if that wasn't enough I started to eat a lot of junk as well. (hello candy, pizza, fries in the middle of the week - all week). It was plain stupid. 

Now I have to start from scratch, again. But this time I'm serious. I'm starting this week with a soup and veggies/fruit-diet/detox! Yesterday I made a vegetable soup and the plan is to just eat this - in addition to veggies and fruit - for five days. I want to start over with a cleanse, and this is my way to do it. (and its going to be tough...its only five days, but that's a long time when you're used to junk and a lot of carbs!)

Today is also the day I start over on my workout program, no point at picking up where I left off five weeks ago..this week is a fresh start. Well, there I said it. Its more serious when you tell someone, so I'm telling you, whoever you are that's reading this - I'm starting fresh. 

Oh, and just so you know, I haven't got any plans of becoming thin or not eat regularly. That's not how I'm built, and I'm waaaay to much in love with food. My goal is to become fit, strong and proud. 
- and also, better in English. Since I lived in New York four months in 2010 I haven't talked or written particularly much, and I've noticed that when I first do write or talk it takes me a while to formulate sentences etc. So i thought why not use this blog to improve? 

Well, that was a lot of new beginnings, I guess its not a coincidence that I'm in the middle of studying for my exams..(procrastinating..what else can I do today..hah)! Anyways, I really hope that by writing this it means that I'm ready for changes, and doesn't just quit after a couple of weeks.. Lets do this!
